Over on the moribund Railfans International Forum I've posted this keen New York Times Global Business article about the revival of freight railroading over the famous Silk Road from China to the west.
It's the first new post in that forum in the last two years. I wanted to post it here but couldn't figure out a way to connect it to Amtrak, however tenuously.
