I Just received an e-mail from Amtrak saying that all wine/cheese tasting has ended as well as complementary welcome packs and all the other items that you used to get. It appears that the Parlor Cars are history, but they don't say it, just tell you that all drinks,snacks are available in the Lounge car. They appear to be sending this to anyone that has a reservation for sleeping car service.

I'm not so sure about the Parlour Car thing. My inside sources say that there are no plans to drop it.
