Metrolink began Saturday service on the LA-Riverside UP (Los Angeles & Salt Lake) line last April. I got a chance to ride that last weekend...one of the stops is at Pomona, where the UP line parallels the ex-SP Sunset route (now also UP) through that area.
They've done a great job of sprucing up the old SP station and the surrounding area. Looks like a good place to watch trains...
