Well, I'm not exactly new to the forum, but I'll be newly resident in the US in under a weeks' time! It's taken nearly two long years to get this far but I hope it'll be worth it. We're moving to Victorville, just outside Los Angeles (on the route of the Southwest Chief), near to the wife's family.

As I'll be on my own for the first few weeks, I fully intend to make use of it and head out on Amtrak somewhere - probably to Waterloo, IN as I have friends there, flying back.

Thanks! Shippers came and removed all our possessions this morning so the house is empty and echoing. Two more days and I'll be on my way!
