Some work train cars are spotted on the siding at Marlboro. There are a couple of cranes mounted on cars and a caboose

Some views of this equipment are included in the "Orange Work" post by syscom3 on trainorders.com. Also in that photo post are pix of SCRRA work at the Orange Wye.
Prob'ly interesting to followers of O.C. activity on this board is coincidental track work by both railroads in community of Orange at the same time.

The UP steel gang arrived yesterday (5-14) in Orange on the ex-Tustin branch. The staging area for the crews is on the west side of Main under Edison ROW. Hard to believe welded rail on this line. This is the most attention it has received in years.
--from trainorders.com, today.
One observer has even gone out to photograph the project between Main and Battavia and posted his pix on the t.o. thread.

You saw the Marlboro Local. He usually leaves Anaheim at around 1330-1400.

Ah so. Thank you most honorable master.
Some day, I'll have to get out of the freeway fastlane and pursue those locals. Today, I just happened to see the ditchlights.

Nice thread on Trainorders.com about emergency training with live RR equipment at Marlboro today, incl. pix by syscom3+ A.Al.
Who said passenger trains would never run there again--Commuters Arise! http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?f=1&i=257364&t=257364
And you guys scoffed when I suggested branch upgrade might be for alternate Mlink route:>).
