Hi everyone, I am a complete newbie to trains. All I know about them is that I love them. I go dirtbiking by some tracks that I thought were abandoned, but to my suprise when my friend and I were working on a jump we hears a thundering sound. we both looked at eachother and ran towars the tracks. A huge BNSF train was coming down the tracks. I never thought that trains were that big.

I later found out that those tracks are the Stampede Pass ones. I live about a mile from them.

I would really appriciate it is someone could post some links for me and maybe a schedule for the Stampede Pass tracks around the Auburn-Ravensdale area.

I am really sorry if this sounds stupid, but after that first experience, I am hooked.

Thanks,
Aaron

Welcome to the world of railfanning! The line over Stampede Pass was the old Northern Pacific main line.It was abandoned in the early 80's,and was reopened in 1996.
