I've heard that CSX is going to triple track from Phila. to Fla. anybody know timetable for this?

Would that include the ex-RF&P from WashDC to Richmond? I can't see any of this happening soon without taxpayer-funds. I don't think CSX has the $ for anything near that big.

i heard that too. it will probably happen AFTER you and i are dead and buried and csx is bought out by amtrak!!!!!

from what i've heard from large cheeses on csx, the first steps are underway, 3tking from hb tower(camden yards) to riverdale,md. this is joint csx/md dot funds. not too far distant will be triple tk on rfp from cp virginia to richmond, vre/ state of va. funds. from new jersey to philly, 2tk soon, maybe 2-4 yrs, philly to balt. will stay as is for now.

I don't think Amcrash is going to buy out CSX. Amtrak almost went out of business last month!

now that I think about it I have see some right of way widening near Lansdowne Md.

work was started between hb tower (camden yard) and cx (carroll) about a month ago for signal improvements. between carroll and halethorpe, contractors are relocating fiber optic and other utility lines for preparation of grade widening and eventual track improvements. no word yet on things from halethorpe to riverdale, i work in baltimore terminal, so i dont get out there all that much. i'll try to keep you posted!
