Dont get me rong, The last thing I would want to evan think about would be the destruction of Amtrak, but if the sad day did come where bush made yet another retarted decision and dicides he wants Amtrak gone, what would we do?, As RailFans and Rail Inthusiast what would* we do if it happend?, All I can say is poeple could try all ways posible to prevent it, I've been to this site before-------
http://www.saveamtrak.org/

I would like to think, Mr. Ortiz, that a set of eyes do review each message sent to the White House. However, I somehow think the review is made by keyword search software.

For example, you e-mail the White house asking that Amtrak be saved, the likely result is that your thoughts will end up in a daily tabulation of how many messages were received regarding Amtrak. Surely, there is one as well regarding whether SECDEF Rumsfeld ought to be retained or kicked out.

Conversely, those who want Amtrak killed will also have their tabulation as well.

The results regarding Rumsfeld surely find their way into the Oval Office; the results regarding Amtrak likely find their way over to a "staffer" at DOT.
