Anyone know if the Phase 3 plans for Penn Sta
in NYC have been released by MTA/PANYNJ? As
a former user of LIRR, the MTA website looks
as if they are using a "band-aid" and "shell
game" approach to try to increase train slots
and non-peak hours storage; perhaps one can
say "Taming A Tiger In An Eye Of A Needle"???
I summize that the VISION 2020 MTA Projects
for NYC (see MTA Plans on home pg) refuse to
"bite-the-bullet" and build a NEW Penn Sta
adjacent to the existing sta, albeit the latter is AMTRAK owned, but mortgaged. Anyone got any rational suggestions that the
"suits" at AMTRAK, MTA, and PANYNJ need to
hear on HOW TO DO IT???
