I just picked up this book the other day, it seems to be rather intereasting. Does anyone have any reviews before I dig in? Thank you.

A lot of the information is now out of date.
Some of his opinions that are very anti-Amtrak must be placed in the perspective that he has personal issues with past Amtrak management. Excessive humility is not part of the man's personality, to say the least.
Read it with the salt shaker at hand.

In my opinion it's not as good as his previous book Supertrains.
In Derailed the message is "let's get rid of Amtrak because it can't make a profit," which seems to go against the whole point of Supertrains, which was that massively improving our rail system would be cost-effective.
