16 days!

I'm flying to Chicago Midway the morning of April 18, riding the 'California Zephyr' to the end of the line (or thereabouts) and then flying home from Oakland on April 21st.

I have a couple of questions which I hope someone familiar with the 'end-of-the-line' can help me with. I've booked a room Thursday night (based on my reading here!) at the Jack London Inn near the Oakland Amtrak station. I'm intending to catch a Capitol Corridor train from Emeryville down to Oakland. HOWEVER, if the CZ arrives at such a time that I have a two or three hour wait before I can travel onward, what kind of cab fare am I looking at from Emeryville to Jack London Square? Would BART be an option?

Anything that's a must see or do at Jack London Square in the event we arrive on time and I have an evening to spend there?

Mr Presley--

I could well be taking my afternoon walk between MP 17.88 (West Hinsdale) and 18.34 (Clarendon Hills) when #5(18) passes.

I would be on the "engineer's side' on a public sidewalk. Casey (Golden Retriever) could be visiting at that time and she too would want to say hello.

I will certainly keep my eyes peeled if my roomette (#2) is running on the right side of the train on the 18th!
