My foaming is soon to end. Im leaving later today for Tampa Fl and Im returning on the 26th on the Silver Star--Capitol Limited and Empire Builder. I havent been on an LD train since March and I wont let that happen again.
My grandson in returning with me and Ive arranged a tour of the Capitol and we have Sears Tower tickets for the lay over in Chicago. I can't think of a better way to spend time with my grandson. Trip report in December

The Sears Tower is always good for killing a Chicago layover. I've not been there for awhile but will try to get there in 2007.

If you are willing to share with the forum, which class of service will you be using (oh whoops, Amtrak is now one class so I should rephrase Coach or Sleeper?)

I'm taking a roomette all the way. That's why I desided to take my grandson. Same for 2 as for 1 and he was half price. I've never had a sleeper on a Viewliner before. My grandson is as excited about the trip as I am. When I put him on a plane back to his mother it will be his first plane ride too.

Even though I have often noted at this forum, the Roomette is a single person accomodation, the second bunk is for just such a party as yours - an adult and a small child!
