Back up and running; there's room for both boards in the passenger train community. Much of RRNET represents a community of "policy wonks'; the community here is more of actual train riders.
Those here who object to the aggressive moderating of their forum can blame me; as I inaugurated those policies during my two terms as such. If a forum is to address contentious topics such as policy, as distinct from train riding experiences, then aggressive moderating must be an integral part of such.
I further inaugurated their prohibition regarding any reporting of Amtrak fares for future travel, as well as the aggressive policy of limiting the paste of any copyrighted material to that of a "brief passage".
I for one, with my background in three 'disciplined' careers - and I doubt if many can dispute that military service, railroad industry, and finally accountancy, are all disciplined endeavors, could never accept the "free for all Jerry Springer" style the prevails over in "pay to post land" (and from which, BTW, I have been kicked out).
But I indeed find it commendable how this forum moves forth without the need for an active moderator.
