We are taking the EB out of Chicago in late July.
Presently we are scheduled to take the City of New Orleans from Southern Illinois into Chicago. It arrives in Chicago @ 9:00 am
We could take the Saluki which arrives @ 12 noon.
If we take the Saluki we dont' have such a EARLY departure from Mattoon....
The EB is scheduled to leave @ 2:15 pm from Chicago.
Any advantages with either train....as far as reliability and not missing our 2:15 EB departure time?

According to the website, 390-CHI-7 is a guaranteed connection, so that Amtrak is prepared to "look out for you".

Thanks for the information.
We'll take 390.
