Puppy rescued from atop a train.

Yes, I know this has nothing to do with Amtrak, but we need a little relief now and then.

Even if Boxy is not a pure Labrador, what a wonderful story.

Remember, this train was a freight; how the Engineer was able to start it without "slack' and not thrown Boxy off the car to a certain demise will have to border on a miracle.

In the news segment, the lady who adopted Boxy certainly appears to love dogs as much as I do.

Finally, regarding Mr. Kisor's title, the likely certain Republican nominee at least had his dog in a cage atop the auto. However you can be sure, considering that Obama has been cast as a dog lover, the issue will likely surface on the campaign trail before passenger rail ever does. But when all is said and done, the 'tale of Nov 6-12" will all come down to "it's the economy; stupid".

GBN (who is definitely "not better off" than he was four years ago - or even three)

I wondered about those white paws and chest mark myself. Boxy sure isn't pure Lab. But I wouldn't mind having him, so long as he stayed off the furniture.

Boxy has now made NBC Nightly News - even if Brian Williams reports his name is Boxcar Hunter:
