Trains magazine published a couple years ago a DVD that contained all its magazines from 1940-2010. I received it for Christmas and am having a great time going through it.
The search feature gives you many options, but have to be a little careful and refine your search. My search for David P. Morgan listed 577 articles. A search where 'Amtrak' appears in the title of an article produced 210 matches. The one feature that was lacking was the ability to cut/copy/paste.
This will certainly enable me to make some additional space on my bookshelves!

If, after very careful consideration, you decide to send any of your Trains Magazines published before 1972 to the rubbish heap or antique dealers, I hope that you will let me know beforehand.
Meanwhile - I think I might put that Trains DVD on my wishlist for next year.

As both Messrs. JP1822 an Presley know first-hand, print V1 #1 to present are carefully stored away here.
But it is interesting to learn that the DVD has a serach feature; also hope KALPUB will choose to make updates available periodically.
Possibly I'll bite myself - full collection notwithstanding.

In November I rode an all-day excursion put on by the good folks at the Roanoke, VA NRHS and found myself sharing dome car space with two other rail enthusiasts that I had known earlier in life but not seen nor corresponded with in nearly 20 years.
One was a retired university professor whom I had played with in a brass band during the early 1990's...... and had first told me at that time that I must not miss seeing the Cumbres & Toltec. Advice appreciated and acted upon shortly thereafter.
The other was at one time the neighbor of an old railfan friend. Upon meeting him at his house in the 1970's I envied his collection of Trains stretching back 38 years to Volume 1. What was more impressive than his collection of the magazine was that he was 'in the business' working as a trainmaster for Southern at the time. Eventually as mergers came about he left the railroad and went to work for the rail division of the NCDOT...... good people to know.
And time being what it is, my collection of Trains is now as large as his was then.....
