Mr. Charles Durning was a Hollywood actor and appeared in a number of films. He was also a WWII veteran and took part in the D-Day invasion.

Last night, on PBS, the had the annual National Memorial Day concert. In the program, they showed a speech, given by Mr. Durning, from a couple of years ago. I thought the speech especially moving:

Mr. Durning died, this past December, and was buried at Arlington with full military honors.

I watched 60 of the 90 minute show (I know the Armed Forces Medley by heart - all services as well as of course mine) and broke away for a trash movie on HoBO (Liberace). That was so sick I cut it off at my 9P bed time.

Unfortunately, PBS is very selective as to what of their material they make available to Comcast On-Demand. NMDC does not seem to be posted at this time.
