That's the route both the Broadway and National Limited used between Wash and Hbg from A-Day until sometime during 1974 when both were rerouted via 30th St.
The route is a 'scenic spectacular' - especially during Autumn' 'been there done that'.

Having ridden every mile of every current Amtrak LD route (and quite a few where even the tracks have been ripped out such as the B&O across WV, the Monon in Southern Indiana, and the former Seaboard north of Raleigh, NC)and all but a handful of the corridor routes, these days I'm on the lookout for 'rare mileage' opportunities.
A couple of faves gotten in recent years include the former Southern from Asheville, NC - Chattanooga, TN on an AAPRCO special and the former CB&Q from Minneapolis to Chicago on a 'Friends of the 261' trip.

Rode the Port Road sometime in mid to late 1975 on the Washington section of the National Limited. By that time the Broadway was going by 30th Street Philadelphia and served that city for Broadway traffic. The New York section did not go through 30th Street at all.
The Port Raod was still electrified at that time. The train out of Harrisburg consisted of a GG1, one coach and one Cafe Coach or something like that. Hey, this is nearly 40 years ago. It was discharge only. The Port road had been recently upgraded, and we went fairly quick. I think the speed limit must have been 60 mph for passenger trains, but I have nothing to prove what it was. Anyway, with the very short train we arrived in DC about 30 minutes early.
