In our sub-zero weather I have been taking my walks in the St. Paul skyways, including the St. Paul Union Depot (SPUD). Today I noticed a new tenant, Megabus, effective 1/29/14 with 6 departures a day to Chicago. Travel time to CHI will be just over 8 hours, same as Amtrak. Fares look to be $12-$20 for this week.
For Amtrak, the signs still say "First Quarter 2014".
Bus or train boarding appear to be equal, down an escalator to a covered outdoor platform. Of course Megabus has no ticket counter or personnel on site.
Jefferson Intercity Bus has a ticket counter, and Greyhound has chosen not to serve St. Paul.
Megabus has wi-fi and a dome like view on the upper level. Somewhat humiliating for us train fans.

Think positive, Jerry; how much of Ol' Man River do you get to see from I-94.

Megabus seems to be all over the place. I see them all over the Bay Area now (didn't used to).
