I have to agree with Carmela, having lived in Northern Montana over a couple of winters. Amtrak (then, the BN) was nice to have nearby with icy roads and 40 below weather.

Fair reporting by the Meriden Record-Journal.

I will certainly concur with Richard that Winter driving in Montana can be challenging - especially in a rented auto that you had only picked up during January in Billings maybe an hour earlier.

It sure seemed driving along US12 - the highway that largely paralleled the MILW, whenever there was a White Cross by the highway, there would always be opposing traffic - and with their own "interpretation" of Montana's "reasonable and proper" daylight speed limit.
