I wonder how the new Apple watch might be useful for Amtrak travelers.

I'm not high tech savvy, but could the new Apple watch show Amtrak train schedules, train status, be used for upgrades or as an e-ticket confirmation once aboard? If Amtrak would provide locked roomettes and bedrooms (and I think they should) could it be used to unlock the sleeper door?

Richard, I am even less a techie than are you, but from what I understand, the iWatch is simply a Bluetooth device that can emulate tasks that an iPhone can perform.

If Amtrak were ever to adapt rooms that can be locked from the outside by a passenger. And that hotels now have rooms that can be accessed by a phone, surely the iWatch will be able to do same.
