Finally I depart tonight for my trip out to Fullerton. I will take the Capitol to Chicago and switch there to the Chief.
I have done this trip numerous times but of course every trip is different. Fortunately, I have had fairly good luck with the crews and conditions on both trains.
This will only be about my second experience with the simplified dining service. I was very disappointed with it on the Starlight a while back. Hopefully my reaction will be more positive this time. I know that I must lower my expectations.
Will offer a full trip report upon return.
Pittsburgh will be my start and end point , by the way.
