Do the railroads today still use the old Russel Snowplows to plow snow with? (Locomotive push type) I havent seen many...anyone know?

i don't know who made them, but csx has a couple of former conrail wedge type plows in the baltimore area. they were at locust point yard the last i saw them. they were used, as well as jordan spreaders with the big storm we had on president's day.

I have been with Conrail/NS since 1977 and have only seen Jorden Spreaders used in the western Pennsylvania area. I remember seeing an old wedge plow at Conway. It was coupled to an old tender and both were painted M/W yellow. It sat near the car shop for a few weeks shortly after I hired but then disappeared to who knows where.

There is an old C&O snow plow at the Quninimont Yard outside prince WV, I have pictures of it somewheres, heard tell there spose to scrap it so i don't know what will come of it
