Where's the eastbound Sunset Limited east of New Orleans? What's taking so long to re-institute the run to Orlando? CSX released the tracks and reset their schedules back last April to get ready for the re-established run! What's happening in Washington?

CSX has been running lots of freights through Tallahassee since last spring. There is no evidence anywhere that Amtrak has stopped service...station signs remain at the stations and there are no cancellation notices. In November I visited the Pensacola station which was, of course, locked up. Notices hung on the doors that service was operating only between LA and San Antonio due to Katrina, the Crescent was not running all the way through and the City of New Orleans was only operating Chicago-Jackson. In other words, 1 1/2 years after Katrina, nobody had been inside the station or bothered to update the situation. This is amazing and is a total lack of respect for Amtrak's community partners and is a big-time end run around the law.
