I plan to be on the LSL in two weeks. This quote describes the current problem being repaired, expected to take 2-3 weeks. There is talk of a possible route around it. Anybody understand all this? Is my arrival at Boston at severe risk of ultra-lateness?
the washout on the Amtrak owned section of the Lake Shore Limited route that runs between the station in Rensselaer and the merger with the New York Central's (now CSX) Castleton cutoff between Schodack Landing and Niverville New York (west of Chatham).

Miss Vicki, I'm no weatherman, but the flooding is due to snow melt running off. Most of it has gone now in MA, so I'm hopeful that service on 448 will be restored by the time you need it. Tom

Miss Vickie, not to stray too far from topic, but as of a few moments ago, here's the "scoop" from Train Status:
#6 (20) CHI 9'39" L #6 (21) DEN OT #6 (22) 'service disruption" (possibly arising from #5 (19) EMY 5'55" L)
I'll place my bets that ye, me, and Mr. Art will be meeting up at Miller's come Apr 4. I'll also place my bets that 448 (4) will be a train all the way CHI-BOS (get us back on topic).
Addendum 3-23-712A CT:
#6 (20) arrived CUS 13hr late - and it woke me up when it passed my home 1/10th mi North of the BNSF.
