NB Auto Train, #52(28) - engines unknown (still in the engine house), 39001 crew dorm, 32105 Oregon, 32089 Mass., 32503 A.Phillip Randolph, 33104 lounge, 38041 sleeper diner, 32502 Graham Claytor, 32102 N.Dakota, 32116 West Va., 34128 coach, 34130 coach, 32107 Rhode Isl.(in an odd position and was part of the latter section still being switched; I have never seen AT with 7 sleepers), 34124, 34127 coaches, 33103 lounge, 38053, 38051 coach diners, and probably 23 auto racks.

SB Silver Star, #91(27), P42s 40 & 65, 3 sleepers & 5 coaches including Autumn View, River View, and Prairie View. About an hour late. Held at the CSX Sanford maintenance base for half an hour. Conductor stepped off to chat with AT personnel who were there waiting.

SB Silver Meteor, #97(27), P40 837, P42 89, also 3 sleepers & 5 coaches, including Sea View, Bay View, and Harvest View. An hour late into Orlando. Middle platform, formerly used by SB trains, has been completely removed, so all trains use the one track closest to the station, which must delay the nearly simultaneously scheduled NB & SB Meteors.

NB Meteor waiting somewhere south. For 2 trains, a fair crowd. I've seen bigger regularly.

Thanks for the consists, Canaveral. These are very interesting though it is odd that AutoTrain had a sleeper among its coaches. It is worth noting that the named "View" cars are Viewliner sleepers despite being listed after the notation "5 coaches". How did you get from Sanford to Orlando since Amtrak doesn't regularly stop at Sanford with trains 91 & 97?

I'm wondering if the removal of the middle platform in Orlando is to make way for new platforms to be used by the coming SunRail Commuter trains.

Notelvis -- I would say there is a 99.9% chance that that IS the reason for removal of the middle platform in Orlando.

Sanford AutoTrain to Orlando Amtrak station is pretty easy now utilizing the Orlando area's expressways: the 417 Greeneway south and the 408 East-West west into town.

Interesting consists, GBN, I had no idea the Florida Special had those great L&N/SRY observations on it. During my college days, several years later, the 'feature' car added at Richmond was a dome sleeper.

Aren't there plans for Sunrail to eventually get to Sanford? If so, I wonder if Amtrak will stop there again.
