Good article, Ms.Sojourner, which appeared in the Saturday print edition.

Here is a station which has a better outcome than several reported by The Times - Athens, Ohio.

This small city, at which 25,000 student Ohio University is located, was once on the B&O route of the National Limited and Metropolitan, and during the Amtrak era, The Shenadoah, which was a victim of the 1979 Carter Cuts.

While I best defer to Mr. Palmland as to when the line was abandoned West of Belpre Twp, OH (apparently home of some industries that give CSX enough traffic to justify maintaining the Ohio River bridge) , the station was properly preserved and is privately owned as a commercial structure.
