While likely "meaningless" to any 20-something kids out there, to this almost 85yo, it's devastating to learn.

My day starts at 5A with CBS Radio News on WBBM 780/105.9 just as it has through my post-college adult life. I check my manual clocks against their "time hack" at top of the hour (how many contemporary radio stations geared to younger audiences even know what a "time hack" is), and as a kid, recall listening to the likes of Lowell Thomas, Eric Severaid, Edward R. Murrow, Douglas Edwards resulting in an eight year old kid reading The New York Times (listening to WQXR during the day and now paying some $2500 a year for "that thump on the porch").

So this loss is truly devastating. I'm sure "I'll live", but loss of "this piece of my life" is going to hurt.
