Obviously, despite two years of "feelgood press" eminating from 60 Mass, Mr Kummant was apparently "not in favor" with the Board; I must ask is this fellow, Mr. Boardman, anymore in favor with such?

Can't the "powers that be" simply ride with Mr. Crosbie (who I dare say knows his role), until the Obama administration is "settled in" and has the opportunity to appoint "their wo/man"?

Naturally, if Amtrak affairs are "on the front burner" with the Obama transition team, and they have "signed off" on the appointment of Mr. Boardman, then so be it. At least he does have some credentials to bring to the table; hopefully no one is saying "Hello Brownie".

Another interesting item about Amtrak published today is the following blogpost from the archconservative Paul M. Weyrich, who does not seem to be anti-Amtrak but also does not seem to be sympathetic to Kummant:

When reading Mr. Weyrich, and I have not read the blogpost you referenced, remember the old saying, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." His views were not accepted by the powers that be in Amtrak quite a few years ago, and in my humble opinion probably rightly not accepted, and ever since that time he has had the knives out and sharp for whoever has been in power at Amtrak and whatever Amtrak has done or proposed.

It (the Amtrak BOD) has apparently authorized a full up executive search.

This guy is a one-year wonder. He may or may not make the finalist list when the search committee is ready to put nominees to the BOD.

Amtrak executive leadership is beginning to be like the Kansas City public schools ... putting more energy into finding a CEO (Superintendent) than it does into oversight of its job: Running the nations' intercity passenger network (educating children).

24 month tenure does not stability make in a CEO.

He's a "Board-Man", so one would assume the Board approves of him [Big Grin] [Razz]

It would appear, as Mr. Pullman notes, that to identify Mr. Boardman as an "acting/interim/whatever President" would suggest that there is no stability at Amtrak and that "who's on first" skits are played out daily at 60 Mass (even if they likely are).

Thanks for removing it, Mr Norman. I have removed my complaint as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!
