We went down to the Santa Barbara station two days this week to pick up our Guest Rewards Tickets for SBA-SAN and VAC-SEA-SBA. Why, you might ask, two days?

The first day there was no problem with the SBA-SAN tickets. When we moved on to the second set of tickets the system wouldn't issue them because our passport numbers were not in the system. I recall giving BOTH sets of numbers to the agent in January but somewhere along the line one set got lost.

Thanks to a great agent, V. McLain, the problem was resolved today -- after she made a call to the "Help Line". (I don't think they issue many international tickets here.)

So, the upshot is that we now have about $1,200.00 worth of Amtrak travel for 23,000 points. Virtually all of those were a transfer from Continental Airlines to Amtrak. I suspect that is a swap that will end when the United-Continental merger is finalized.

We will take the Surfliner to SAN on the 14th and then board Radiance of the Seas on 15 May and arrive in Vancouver on 20 May. We take the Cascades to Seattle, spend the night and then board the Coast Starlight on the 21st arriving back in SBA on the 21st.

Frank, your 'ride' came through the Panama Canal today. Here's a screen grab of her at the Gatun and Miraflores Locks:

And a few as she lowers through the lock:

Thanks for these! We know several people who are onboard. They still have nine days onboard.

We have spent 40 nights on Radiance and are looking forward to getting back on board!

Frank,
She looks like she just fits in that lock. Is that the ship Vicki and Art are on?

Tom--

Art and Vicki are still on Zuiderdam. They have a Sea Day today (05/06/11) and will be in Acapulco tomorrow. Their cruise doesn't end until next Wednesday.
